Australian dollars is the
legal tender in Naoero. Foreign exchange at any outlet will be
difficult. Cash/Credit/debit cards are
accepted
Commonwealth Bank (CBA) has today
announced it will establish banking operations in Naoero, following
the exit of the existing banking provider from the island. CBA
expects to commence services in the second half of 2025.
This update follows the
announcement of a Treaty between the Governments of Australia and
Naoero earlier today.
Providing the people of Nauru with
banking services is an important element of our nations'
partnership and CBA looks forward to supporting our new
customers.
CBA will work closely with the
Australian Government and the Government of Naoero to effect a
smooth transition of services.
