President receives Poland
Ambassador-designate Kolodziejski
The Ambassador-designate of Poland to Nauru presented his
credentials to His Excellency President Lionel Aingimea in a
virtual ceremony making him the first Polish ambassador to Nauru,
16 September.
President Aingimea acknowledges this momentous appointment and
looks forward to fostering and strengthening the relationship for
the mutual benefit of Nauru and Poland.
"Poland's successful economic transformation is well noted and
indeed we look forward to the sharing of experience and Poland's
support for our national development efforts including economic
development," President Aingimea said.
Ambassdor Kolodziejski expressed appreciation for Nauru's
support of Poland so far in elections to international bodies,
noting the shared historical similarities such as the struggle for
independence and strong commitments to the United Nations.
"We would be pleased to continue our multilateral collaboration
to promote our shared interests, in particular regarding global
security and stability, as well as action against climate
change.
"During my mission I would like to enhance our [Poland] modest
economic cooperation," the Ambassador said, underscoring Poland's
continued support for Nauru's economic development and prosperity
in the whole region through contributions within the European
Union.
Ambassador Kolodziejski began his diplomatic service in 2004 and
is also accredited to Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, the
Federated States of Micronesia, Vanuatu and the Marshall
Islands.
On a lighter note, it's acknowledged that a people-to-people
connection long exists with the two countries in the marriage of
Polish national, Miroslawa, to former president of Nauru Kinza
Clodumar.
