Yesterday's testing recorded 16 per cent or approximately one in six results returned positive, the first since community transmission was detected. Overall tests done this outbreak reported 33 per cent are positive results.

You are urged to continue practicing good hygiene - hand washing, wear a mask, keep your distance and keep your house well ventilated.

The Nauru National COVID-19 Taskforce advises that the one-in-six positive results or 16 per cent of all tests yesterday (6 July) being positive indicates a slowing down of the community transmission; the first time since COVID was detected in the community.

The outbreak of COVID is still being monitored and the public is urged to get tested and register results - both positive and negative.

President Lionel Aingimea acknowledges Floral Catering & Bakery Service for its donation of 5,574 packets of assorted biscuits and breakfast crackers to the Taskforce and will go towards the government's support of households currently under lockdown.

The donation consists of family assorted biscuits, assorted cookies, breakfast crackers, and chocolate biscuits.

Yesterday, 88 children aged five to 11 years received their first dose taking the total to 893. Parents and guardians are encouraged to bring in their children to get vaccinated.

Testing and vaccination stations for this group are open at the Aiwo Boulevard.

The public is urged to get tested and register results. Drive-through testing stations are always open. If you are unable to reach these testing sites please call 191 for home testing.

If you are self-testing, please register your result - both positive and negative. Go online to register your result at https://app.smartsheet.com/b/form/0c233d5e98a44d7b942fbeb161c245df
