In today's update, the accumulative
statistics as at end of Tuesday, 5 July, are as follows:

105 new cases

4,066 active cases

563 tests done yesterday (Tue, 5 July)

12,794 tests done this outbreak

942 cases recovered
-
9 cases admitted to the hospital Acute Care Unit with an additional
3 carers
- 1 patient with comorbidities
- 1 patient in her late 40s
- 1 child responding well to treatment
- 2 patients in moderate condition, and
- others with mild or no COVID symptoms. All patients are closely
monitored.

906 residents in 159 houses have recovered and are out of
isolation. With yesterday's additional 28 houses in lockdown, the
total number of houses in lockdown is now 345 with 3,106
residents.

89 occupants in the quarantine facility (Budapest)
Yesterday's testing showed 19 per
cent or approximately one in five tests returned positive results.
Overall tests done this outbreak reported 34 per cent or
approximately one in three results are positive.
President Lionel Aingimea thanks
the governments of Australia and the Republic of China (Taiwan),
Wilson Security and Canstruct for their continued support for Nauru
in minimising the impacts of COVID-19 through donations of personal
protective equipment (PPE).
Australia donated Rapid Antigen
Test kits; Taiwan - Rapid Antigen Test kits, N95 Masks and oxygen
concentrators; Wilson Security - Masks; and Canstuct - Rapid
Antigen Test kits and masks.
President Aingimea appreciates that
Australia and Taiwan are countries who are both battling COVID yet
they remain staunch supporters of Nauru in times of need.
Eighty three children aged five to
11 years received their first dose yesterday, taking the total to
805. Parents and guardians are encouraged to bring in their
children to get vaccinated.
Testing and vaccination stations
for this group are open at the Aiwo Boulevard. Always wear a mask,
sanitise and keep your distance.
The public is urged to get tested
and register results. Drive-through testing stations are always
open. If you are unable to reach these testing sites please call
191 for home testing.
